Welcome to District 1E, representing the oldtime fiddlers of Oregon’s vast high desert country! Covering Lake County and the surrounding area, our district includes the communities of Lakeview, Silver Lake, Paisley, and Christmas Valley.

About Our District

District 1E covers some of the most wide-open, beautiful country in all of Oregon. Lake County is larger than some Eastern states, with endless sagebrush flats, dramatic fault-block mountains, and skies so big they’ll take your breath away. Out here, neighbors might live thirty miles apart — which makes our music gatherings all the more meaningful.

Lakeview, the “Tallest Town in Oregon” at 4,800 feet elevation, serves as the hub of our district. Silver Lake, Paisley, and the scattered ranching communities of Lake County all contribute to a small but dedicated group of musicians who keep oldtime music ringing across the high desert.

What Makes Us Special

In a place where towns are few and far between, music brings people together like nothing else. District 1E members carry on the tradition of house parties, community hall dances, and ranch gatherings that have been part of Eastern Oregon life for over a century. The tunes we play echo the cowboy and ranching heritage of this remote corner of the state.
