District 3 – Central Oregon

Welcome to District 3, home to the Central Oregon Fiddlers! Our district covers a huge swath of Oregon’s heartland, from the resort town of Bend to the cherry orchards of The Dalles, with Redmond, Madras, Prineville, and dozens of smaller communities in between.

About Our District

Central Oregon is a land of contrasts — snow-capped Cascade peaks to the west, rolling juniper-and-sage rangelands to the east, and the spectacular Deschutes River canyon cutting through it all. District 3 draws musicians from this entire diverse region, creating a vibrant community of fiddlers, guitarists, banjo players, and more.

The Bend-Redmond area has seen tremendous growth over the years, but the oldtime music tradition remains strong. Our jam sessions bring together newcomers and longtime residents alike, united by a love of traditional tunes. Whether you’re a retiree who’s been playing since childhood or a young family looking for something authentically Oregonian, you’ll find a warm welcome at a District 3 jam.

What Makes Us Special

Central Oregon has a strong ranching and outdoor heritage, and our music reflects that independent spirit. District 3 members have been known to play at everything from county fairs to mountain campouts. The high desert air seems to make the fiddle tunes ring a little brighter out here.

If you’re visiting Central Oregon — whether for skiing at Mt. Bachelor, fishing the Deschutes, or just passing through — check our schedule and join us for a jam. All skill levels welcome!
