District 10 – Umpqua Valley - Oregon Oldtime Fiddlers' Association

Welcome to District 10, home to the oldtime fiddlers of the beautiful Umpqua Valley! Our district covers Douglas County in southwestern Oregon, including the communities of Roseburg, Sutherlin, Canyonville, Myrtle Creek, Winston, Riddle, and Glide.

About Our District

The Umpqua Valley is one of Oregon’s hidden gems — a land of forested mountains, fertile river valleys, and charming small towns. Roseburg, our district’s hub, sits at the confluence of the North and South Umpqua Rivers, surrounded by some of the finest timber and wine country in the state. The name “Umpqua” comes from the indigenous people who have lived in this valley for thousands of years.

District 10 has a vibrant and active membership. Our musicians come from all across Douglas County, and our jam sessions are known for their energy and camaraderie. Whether the tune is a lively breakdown, a sweet waltz, or a classic fiddle standard, you’ll hear it played with heart at a District 10 gathering.

What Makes Us Special

District 10 stands out for its strong community outreach. Our members perform regularly at senior centers, care facilities, and community events throughout the Umpqua Valley, bringing the gift of live music to audiences who truly appreciate it. We believe that sharing our music is just as important as playing it.

The district also benefits from a well-organized leadership team that keeps events running smoothly and welcomes new members warmly. From a dedicated sound person to an active publicist, District 10 takes its music-making seriously — while never forgetting that the whole point is to have fun.

If you’re passing through the Umpqua Valley — maybe on your way to Crater Lake, exploring the wine country around Umpqua and Elkton, or just traveling the I-5 corridor — check the Hoedowner for our next jam. There’s always room for one more in the circle.
